Deaf Diabetes Can Together is a collaboration between an University of Utah research team and an Community Advisory Board.

We live in a world where healthcare is accessible. Health for deaf people is equal to that of hearing people.

Deaf Diabetes Can Together is deaf-led with clinician support to provide high quality health education to deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

Deaf Diabetes Can Together Community Advisory Board

Deaf Diabetes Can Together is possible because of the diverse Deaf/hard of hearing community advisory board. Living across the United States, this board has provided essential feedback that guides all research activities.

Certified Community Health Worker (CHW)
Certified through the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES) and trained to support the community by leading the Deaf Diabetes Can Together program. Some members of the Community Advisory Board (CAB) are also Certified Community Health Workers.
